“Mother Stories”

A collection of watercolour paintings overlaid with water based inks. These pieces hold a lot of meaning and where created using memory in a state of “flow”, relying on my intuition to guide me as I painted and drew.

They depict different stages from my own motherhood journey. The exciting anticipation of pregnancy in “Family Dreaming” and “Family Bonds”

The expressions of love shared in “our love, their love” and “us and more”.

There are many ways in which these pieces can be displayed together as a collection, as pairs or individuals. They are intimate yet initing, scenes in which we can all relate to, recall our own personal journeys reflected from them. To me, this is beautiful, that my memories spark your memories - even though our stories are different, here we can connect, here we are not alone on our journeys.
